If there’s one thing you can expect this winter, it’s that Michigan will be the ultimate destination for snowmobilers, and luckily for you, you won’t have to travel far to experience the best trails in the country. You might already have your favorite trails, but we here at Bright Power Sports have thrown in some of our favorites so you can check out some new places or get an idea of where to start. You can also stop by our location in Lincoln Park, Michigan, to chat with one of our experienced staff about what they recommend. We proudly serve Detroit and all of Wayne County.

Join a Club

Michigan is filled with fantastic snowmobile clubs that can make it easy to find great trails and have a community to ride with. This can be particularly helpful if you’re new to snowmobiling and don’t know where to start. We highly recommend a club that’s near you or do a little research on the clubs you can join to find one that you love.

Upper Peninsula

In some of the most northern parts of the state, you’ll find the best snowmobiling trails (not so surprising). The Upper Peninsula is a great place to take your sled and explore some of the most rugged parts of the state.

Marquette

As the largest city in the Upper Peninsula (UP), this is where you’ll find a thriving city surrounded by a wintry landscape. This is where you’ll find a vast network of trails that you can enjoy. You can also experience the heart of the city and visit some of their historical sites, or simply grab a bite to eat in this homely metropolis.

Ontonagon

If you’re looking to get away from people, then checking out the snowmobile trails in Ontonagon County might be a better choice. This includes traveling through Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park and past Lake Gogebic. You can also find some great hiking trails, fishing, and other outdoor activities to make the most of your trip to the area.

Lower Peninsula

Even if you live a little farther south, you probably won’t be far from an excellent set of snowmobile trails, including a few right near us.

Sanilac County

The larger Sanilac County offers a combined 100 miles of groomed trails on private land, including the Thumbs Up trail. It offers excellent views of eastern Michigan. Visit the Sanilac Shores Underwater Preserve and the Port Sanilac Lighthouse for a little change up to your trip. There’s a lot to see and do in this area, just north of us, so take a day off and explore with your sled.

Cadillac

With 200 miles of multi-use 4 season trails—10 of which are only 20 minutes from downtown—Cadillac is a great place to take your sled and explore stunning landscapes near your home. It’s the geographic center of the state, and is also the highest in elevation. It's even a great stop for skiers, ice fishermen, and hikers.

Presque Isle

If you’re looking for an extended trip, try traveling all the way up to Presque Isle, where you’ll find snowmobile trails right along Lake Huron. This is where you’ll want to go for a welcoming, weekend stay near trails that’ll offer you fantastic ride quality and a fun day of riding. You’ll also have the option of diving to the shipwrecks in the area, or you can visit the tallest lighthouse tower accessible on the Great Lakes, Presque Isle Light Station.

And these are just a few of the places you can visit when looking for a great set of snowmobiling trails. There’s so much to do and explore in our state and your sled is a great way to accomplish this. If you’re still looking for the right snowmobile, then stop by Bright Power Sports and we’ll give you the complete tour of available options. We welcome all those from Lincoln Park, Detroit, and all of Wayne County, Michigan.
